    PJW Fundraising 2018/19
    Posted Aug 14, 2018

    Hello PJW Families:

As we approach the new season, our Fundraising Committee has been hard at work strategizing about corporate sponsorship packages.  We know how expensive our sport is and I know first hand what it means to miss a season because your family cannot afford to pay for hockey.  I was lucky that I was tall and could play basketball that winter, but hockey was my passion and it hurt to miss out that year. Our scholarship program is used by some in our organization, but we can do better and we must.

Attached is a letter  Play it Forward that is asking for your help.  As a coach, I like to say that my greatest asset is the heart and passion of my players.  As the President of the PJW Association, our greatest asset are our parents and the connections they have throughout our area and region.  Please read the attached letter and give some thought to who we should approach to become members of our sponsorship team here in Portland.  Whether it is your business, a company you know that contributes to youth sports locally or an idea you might have, we would love to hear from you. Please send any ideas or suggestions to playitforwardjrwinterhawks@gmail.com by August 31st so that we can continue to push to reduce the costs of the game we all love so much.
